Tankship Dangerous Liquids Course

Objective

This 40 hour course and covers all subjects in Table 2 to 46 CFR 13.121(e) and STCW Code Tables A-V/1-1-1, A-V/1-1-2 and A-V/1-1-3. A mariner who successfully completes the course will satisfy the training requirements Tankerman-PIC DL as Tankerman-PIC (Barge) DL; endorsement for Advanced Oil Tanker Cargo operations; and the STCW endorsement for Advanced Chemical Tanker Cargo Operations. The course will also satisfy training requirements for endorsements as Tankerman-Assistant DL, Tankerman-Engineer DL, and Basic Oil and Chemical Tanker Cargo Operations.

 The course will satisfy

Any applicant who successfully completes our Tankship Dangerous Liquids Course (SUNDP-501) and applies for endorsement within five years of completion:

Satisfies the course requirements of 46 CFR 13.201(c)(4) for original issuance OR 13.120(a)(2) for renewal of Tankerman-PIC (DL): AND

Satisfies the course requirements of 46 CFR 13.301(c)(4) for original issuance OR 13.120(c)(2) for renewal of Tankerman-PIC (Barge) (DL): AND

 Satisfies the course requirements of 46 CFR 13.401(e)(1) for original issuance OR 13.120(b)(2) for renewal of Tankerman-Assistant (DL); AND

Satisfies the course requirements of 46 CFR 13.501(c)(4) for original issuance OR 13.120(d)(2) for renewal of Tankerman-Engineer (DL); AND

Meets the standards of competence, required by 46 CFR 13.609(a)(2), of Section A-V/1, Table A-V/1-1-1 of the STCW Code for Basic Oil AND Chemical Tanker Cargo Operations; AND

Provided the applicant also supplies a statement signed by the Master, Chief Engineer or Chief Mate of an Oil AND/OR Chemical Tanker, appropriate to the endorsement sought, that the mariner has demonstrated to the satisfaction of the signer that he or she is fully capable of supervising transfers of dangerous liquid cargo in accordance with the guidance found in Navigation Vessel Inspection Circular 22-14 (Encl 1, paragraphs 4 or 5):

Meets the Standards of competence, required by 46 CFR 13.603(a)(2), (b)(2) or (c)(2) AND/OR 13.605(a)(2), (b)(2) or (c)(2), of Section A-V/1, table A-V/1-1-2 AND/OR A-V/1-1-3 of the STCW Code for Advanced Oil AND/OR Chemical Tanker Cargo Operations.

Scope

This course will introduce the students to the dangers and shipboard systems involved in the transfer of dangerous liquid cargoes.

1. the training requirements of 46 CFR 13.201(c)(4) for an endorsement as Tankerman-PIC DL and 13.201(c)(4) for an endorsement as Tankerman-PIC (Barge) DL;

2. the requirements of 46 CFR 13.603(a)(2), 46 CFR 13.603(b)(2), 46 CFR 13.603(c)(2) and STCW Code Table A-V/1-1-2 for an STCW endorsement for Advanced Oil Tanker

Cargo Operations; and

3. the requirements of 46 CFR 13.605(a)(2), 46 CFR 13.605(b)(2), 46 CFR 13.605(c)(2) and STCW Code Table A-V/1-1-3 for an STCW endorsement for Advanced Chemical Tanker Cargo Operations.

4. the requiremtns or 46 CFR 13.609 (a)(2), and STCW Code Table A-V/1-1-1 for  an STCW endorsement   for basic oil and chemical tanker cargo operations.

 Entry standards

This course is intended for all ratings and licensed officers who are working towards certification as Tankerman, Tankship (PIC). The course does not require or assume any prior service on tank vessels and is one step in the certification process as described in the CFR. Although mariners are not required to have current Basic Training to qualify for STCW tanker cargo operation endorsements, in order to serve on a seagoing tank vessel of 500 GT or more, mariners must hold the appropriate STCW tanker cargo operation endorsement and have currently valid Basic Training (46 CFR 15.1105).

Payment plan available: $300 deposit plus 8 payments of $93.75, paid every two weeks.

Tank Ship Liquefied Gasses

This specialized classroom course is designed to teach ship’s officers, tanker terminal personnel, and management staff the advanced principles involved in the safe loading, transportation, and discharging of liquefied gases. The course satisfies the training requirements of 46 CFR 13.201(c)(4); 46 CFR 13.301(c)(4); 46 CFR 13.401(e)(1); 46 CFR 13.501(c)(4); 13.120(a)(2), (c)(2), (b)(2), (d)(2); AND meets the standards of competence, required by 46 CFR 13.611(a)(2) AND by 46 CFR 13.607(a)(2), (b)(2) or (c)(2).

The course takes full account of Regulation A-V/1-2 para 3 of the STCW Code adopted by the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watch keeping for Seafarers as amended; AND meets the standards of competence of Section A-V/1, Table A-V/1-2-1 of the STCW Code for Basic Liquefied Gas Tanker Cargo Operations; AND of Section A-V/1, Table A-V/1-2-2 of the STCW Code for Advanced Liquefied Gas Tanker Cargo Operations.
