Engine Room Resource Management (ERM)



This course provides the knowledge, understanding and performance of Engine Room Resource Management (ERM) to the extent needed to safely maintain engineering watch-keeping using the available resources to conduct safe engineering operation.

The course emphasizes both the application and learning of Engine Room Resource Management in a variety of underway context. This is achieved by standard lectures, demonstration on the use of Engine Room Simulator and Case Studies.

The course is based on the competence required by 46 CFR 11.329 (a)(3); Section A-III/1 and Table A-III/1 of the STCW Code, as amended 2010, meeting the National Assessment Guidelines from NVIC 17-14 (Ch-1) Tasks 1.1.F; 1.4; 16.1.A; 16.2.A; 16.3.A; 16.4.A, and Leadership and Teamworking Skills within 46 CFR 11.329(c), and is designed to meet the STCW requirements in the use of ERM, as revised by the 2010 Manila Amendments, specifically as these apply to Tables, A-III/1 and A-III/2, Engine Room Resource Management and application of leadership and team working skills and the use of leadership and managerial skills.


Those who successfully complete this course should be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge,skill and understanding of Engine Room Resource Managementtoconduct a safe engineering watch definedby the STCW Code,as amended.

Payment plan available: $250 deposit plus 6 payments of $121.42, paid weekly. Final payment of $121.48.
